Faculty Services
Book/Article DeliveryBooksThe Law Library catalog is integrated with the UO Libraries. Law faculty borrow freely from the Law Library. Contact the Circulation Desk [lawcirc@uoregon.edu; 346-3088] to have Law Library items checked out and delivered to your mailbox. Request items to be delivered from Knight Library and its branches (AAA, Science, Math, Oregon Institute of Marine Biology, and Portland Architecture Library) by clicking on "Request Item/Place Hold" in the catalog. Check for borrowing policies of the UO Libraries. We also deliver Interlibrary Loan, Summit, and WorldCat books when you designate the Law Library as your pickup location. To enable a research assistant to borrow on your behalf, complete a proxy form. ArticlesLaw faculty can have print journal articles scanned and delivered to their desktop. This service is available for articles held only in print by UO Libraries. To request an article, enter the citation in Findtext. (You can also find a link to FindText from the UO Libraries homepage.) If FindText indicates the article appears only in a print journal owned by the UO LIbraries, you may request delivery by selecting the "UO Faculty and Distance Ed" link. book purchasesWe encourage faculty to recommend titles for the Law Library collection. Contact Mary Ann Hyatt [mahyatt@uoregon.edu; 346-3097] or your faculty liaison. Borrow from other librariesRequest materials from our Northwest library partners in Summit. If you want something that is not in Summit, try WorldCat, a national catalog which also lets you borrow from other libraries. CAli (computer-assisted legal instruction)Faculty and their students have access to CALI lessons. Each user must create their own username and password. The faculty authentication code for registration is OREGONfac161. Classroom use of videoLaw faculty are encouraged to book items from the Law Library or Knight Library video collections for classroom use. Booking should be done as far in advance as possible, but at least four business days before the expected use. See Video Collection: Booking Information to either self-book (faster) or fill out a staff-mediated booking form. Law Library items will be delivered to your mailbox in advance of your class. Knight Library items must be picked up at the Knight Library's Reserves and Video service desk (Room 101). Faculty who ask a student to pick up a booked video must send the student with a completed "Faculty Authorization for Video Collection Checkout (Classroom Use)." Faculty may also ask their library proxy to pick up the video. Videos have a 3-day checkout with one renewal. Knight Library videos must be returned to the Knight Library's Reserves and Video service desk. cle credit supportThe Law Library has many CLE credit items recognized by the Oregon State Bar. For more information see the Law Library's Oregon CLE page. copy cardsTurn in a signed Dean's Authorization Slip at the Circulation Desk to get copy cards for the Law Library. For copy cards to use in other libraries, see the UO Library Copiers page. Course ReservesThe course reserve collection gives your students ready access to materials that supplement your teaching, such as books, articles, notes, assignments, sample tests, old exams, and AV. If you request electronic reserves (E-reserves), we scan your materials and put them on the web so your students can use them any time, any place. To put material on reserve give the item(s) to your assigned faculty support person. Support staff will process the materials and give them to the library. You will be asked by staff to sign the appropriate form below. Call Simon Thompson [346-1653] if you have questions, or contact Mary Clayton [mclayton@uoregon.edu; 346-1650].
